"Operation:Firebrek" Event Outline

Urgent call to all Guardians: Stop the fire contamination!

Fire contamination on an unprecedented scale is being reported in various parts of the Gurhal system. Operation Firebreak is a large-scale undertaking aimed at purifying this contamination. Fortunately, there has been little damage to the GUARDIANS Colony so far, but the branch offices on each planet have been receiving non-stop requests for assistance. This is a state of emergency—carry out your missions with that in mind!

Event dates: May 25, 2007 to June 29, 2007

Operation Firebreak is the first large-scale player participation event for Phantasy Star Universe. The top priority is to eradicate the fire contamination.

In each fire contamination mission, there will be multiple fire SEED cores. You will need to use goggles to find the SEED-Zoma hidden around the SEED cores, then use a photon eraser to purify them. There have also been reports of enormous SEED-Zoma that require at least three Guardians working in tandem to purify them. Once you have purified the SEED-Zoma surrounding a SEED core, you will be able to destroy the core.

As you eliminate SEED cores, you will earn purification points. The purification points earned by all Guardians will be gathered into one total number for all players. The purification point total will include the results from players on the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system version (US and Japanese), the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system version (US) and Windows version (US), and this total will be displayed on the Special Event page. Purification rewards will be issued to all players based on the total points.

First, please head to the GUARDIANS Headquarters to learn more about “Fire Contamination Purification” by selecting the tutorial mission “Operation Firebreak.”

Purification point totals
The purification point total displayed after completing a fire contamination mission on a planet is the point total for that planet only. The point totals for each planet displayed on the Special Event page are totals for the Xbox 360™ (Japanese) version, Xbox 360™ (US) version, PlayStation®2 system (US) version and Windows (US) version.
Goggles

You will need goggles to successfully purify the SEED on fire contamination missions. If you do not have goggles, participate in the Operation Firebreak tutorial mission, and they will be issued to you. Make sure you have goggles before you take on a fire contamination mission.

Photon erasers

Photon erasers will be issued at the beginning of each fire contamination mission, and collected again at the end of the mission.
